I was born in Berlin in 1973 and started to play the Cello at the age of ten.

Drawn by my own fascination with violin making,

I moved to Cremona after graduating from university
in order to learn that unique trade, devoted to the art of music.

After a four-year violin making apprenticeship at the Milan Civica Scuola di Liuteria under Nadia Mantovani,
I decided to stay in Cremona to deepen my newly discovered passion :
The philological reconstruction of historical instruments, namely the baroque violin.

After having dedicated two years to the research of the methods of construction used by the old masters,
I decided to move to the idyllic Tuscany in 1997.

On what kind of instruments the music of Corelli and Bach were first performed?

With this question in mind, I started to go further into the methods
of construction and the charming world of
ancient music.
I realized that I wanted to create instruments which satisfy the requirements of the baroque era,

producing a fresh and crispy sound - resulting from working on carefully selected materials
with sensitiveness and calmness in an inspiring environment.

And it is exactly that music I love which drives me to make another instrument,
a unique and individual item whose character is often surprising myself and
fills my heart with joy, when the sounds of the music open up new dimensions.
